No Time to Plan

“I Don’t Have Time to Make a Plan!” Have you ever felt like you were so behind on your work that you didn’t have time to plan? Planning is like exercising – the more you do it, the better you feel and the more you get done. When busy people take time out to exercise they become more productive. Exercising actually SAVES them time. And it’s the same way with planning. By taking a little time each evening to play your next day, you become more productive and less stressed. In fact, people who plan report they are generally happier and sleep better than people who don’t plan. Plan how you’re going to spend your time in advance, and you'll get stuff done. Just wing it as you go along and you'll invite chaos, stress and missed deadlines. But don't take my word for it. Here are quotes to help you get more stuff done through planning: “A man who does not plan long ahead will find trouble at his door.” – Confucius “Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.” – Alexander Graham Bell “By Failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” – Benjamin Franklin “Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” – Abraham Lincoln “Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.” – Thomas Edison “If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.” – Yogi Berra “Long-range planning works best in the short term.”– Doug Evelyn “Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” – Pablo Picasso “Plans are nothing; planning is everything.”– Dwight D. Eisenhower “Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.”– Paul J. Meyer “Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.” – Tom Landry18. “Always plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.” – Richard Cushing “The more time you spend contemplating what you should have done…you lose valuable time planning what you can and will do.” – Lil Wayne “The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.” – John F. Kennedy “To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time.” – Leonard Bernstein “Unless you have definite, precise, clearly set goals, you are not going to realize the maximum potential that lies within you.” – Zig Ziglar “Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.” – Gloria Steinem “You don’t need a new plan for next year. You need a commitment.”– Seth Godin “You’ve got to get up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.”– George Lorimer “Your daily choices and actions should be rational and productive.”– Sunday Adelaja
